Paragon GE is looking for an Operations Cost Controller for a staff role with an E&P company in London, UK.

 

The Operations Cost Controller will oversee and quality control activities for CAPEX and OPEX projects company wide, including the West African subsidiary. The focus will be to control the HQ based projects costs and support the project managers to minimise the deviation from the budget and ensure that the projects are completed within the approved budget. It also includes the cost control and analysis for OPEX related major contracts management with accurate cost reviews and forecasts as well as Document Control.

 

The role will be based in London with occasional visits to site in West Africa.

 

A strong background within Mining or Oil & Gas in Africa would be preferable but not essential.

Responsibilities

 

Project Control:

· Provide monthly Project Cost/Schedule reports with clear identifications of project performances against set deadlines and budgets to the project managers

· Assist the project managers to set up project cost estimations in supportive of the AFE approval processes. This includes establishment of cost baselines for measuring and monitoring project performance and assessing variances

· Develop Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) to define the durations and costs for various tasks and allocate accurately the costs as per WBS for each project and track any deviations

· Carry out necessary on job training to cascade the corporate standards to the subsidiary and ensure the quality control is done appropriately to obtain the same level of accuracy across the business

 

OPEX Contracts Cost Management

· Develop and maintain an accurate major Opex contract list with contract award/expiry dates, contracts owners/executors and contracts values

· Provide and report to the Group Supply Chain Manager and C&P Manager monthly cost analysis including expenditure to date against budgets and also forecast the forthcoming expenditures based on the variations of the Opex activities during the year

· Track the invoices and report their current status and highlight upcoming and late payments

· Establish project schedule baselines and assess any variances

 

Document Controller

· Work with the project managers to develop Master Document Register for each project and issue appropriate document numbers

· Store, catalogue and retrieve all the project documents

· Maintain the integrity of working documents and update documentation when revised

· Ensure document security for assigning access, removing obsolete documents

· Requirements

· To be successful in this capacity, you will require previous experience in a similar capacity ideally in the Oil and Gas Industry.

 

Other required competencies and attributes include:

· Proficiency in using SAP particularly for data analysis

· Excellent communication skills with focus on report writing and delivering meaningful presentations which facilitate informed decision making

· Understanding of Oil and Gas contracts and payment terms

· Previous experience managing large volume of information and documents

· Attention to detail

· Fluency in French is desirable however not compulsory
