The Field Manager role owns the safety, reliability and efficiency of field operations, achieving production targets while protecting asset integrity and HSEQ standards. It leads across Operations, Maintenance, Wells, HSEQ and support functions to keep production safe and asset value protected. As the senior field lead, it drives safety culture, operational discipline and sharp risk management. It also builds strong teams and manages key stakeholder relationships across the joint venture.

Job Purpose
- Accountable for safe, reliable and efficient field operations, ensuring production targets, asset integrity, HSEQ requirements and business objectives are achieved.
- Provides overall field leadership across Operations, Maintenance, Wells, HSEQ and support functions to deliver safe production and protect long-term asset value.
- Acts as the senior field representative, driving safety culture, operational discipline, people development, risk management and effective stakeholder relationships.
- Promote the company’s process safety, HSE and operational standards across the JV and provide visible HSES leadership in all field activities.
- Ensure MAE/MATTE, process safety, asset integrity and environmental risks are identified, assessed, controlled, monitored and supported by effective safety-critical barriers.
- Ensure compliance with company HSES requirements, legislation, procedures and approved risk controls through site presence, inspections, audits and performance reviews.
- Maintain effective emergency preparedness and response capability, including drills, exercises and response to significant operational events.
- Ensure incidents, near misses and deviations are reported, investigated and closed out, and stop or suspend work where unacceptable HSES or operational risks exist.
- Safety, HSEQ & Process Safety: Lead HSEQ and process safety performance,maintain a strong safety culture, ensure compliance with JV/shareholder standards and regulations, manage major accident hazards and safety-critical elements, and drive emergency preparedness, assurance and incident learning.
- Production & Operational Performance: Accountable for safe, reliable production delivery, integrated production planning, operational optimization, loss reduction and coordination with wells, subsurface, maintenance, projects, engineering, commercial teams and external production stakeholders.
- Asset Integrity & Reliability: Ensure field assets remain safe, reliable and fit or purpose through risk-based integrity management, preventive and corrective maintenance, reliability improvement, assurance and integration of maintenance and inspection into operating plans.
- Operational Planning & Shutdowns: Lead major shutdowns, campaigns, projects, start-ups and tie-ins with robust planning, risk management, resource coordination, cost and schedule discipline, safe return to service and lessons learned.
- Business & Financial Management: Support OPEX/CAPEX budgeting, cost control, resource and contract efficiency, forecasting, business planning and decisions that balance short-term production with long-term asset value.
- Leadership & People Development: Lead a high-performing, safety-focused field organization by setting clear accountabilities, developing national staff and future leaders, maintaining competence and training, and ensuring effective workforce planning and field coverage.
- Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement: Drive improvement in safety, production, reliability, cost and efficiency through standardized work processes, operational discipline, performance data, risk communication, best-practice sharing and implementation of company initiatives.
- Projects, Wells & Change Management: Provide operational input and field readiness for drilling, workovers, interventions, modifications, commissioning and change activities, ensuring risks are assessed and disruption is minimized.
- Stakeholder & Joint Venture Management: Act as senior field representative with partners, authorities, contractors and suppliers, ensuring clear reporting, aligned priorities, effective communication and timely escalation of operational, HSEQ, production or business risks.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or a related engineering discipline.
- 12+ years of relevant experience in upstream Oil & Gas operations, production facilities, or gas processing operations.
- Significant leadership experience in field or plant operations, including experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven experience in production operations, asset integrity, maintenance, HSEQ, shutdowns, and operational risk management.
- Experience in managing major operational activities, projects, start-ups, shutdowns, or well-related activities is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of process safety, risk management, emergency response, and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated experience in budget management and operational cost control.
- Experience working in a JV, multicultural, and multi-disciplinary environment is preferred.
