Paragon is searching for an experienced Completion & Well Intervention Manager to lead all completion and well intervention activities across our client’s operations in Gabon.

Reporting to the Wells Manager, the CWI Manager will be responsible for the planning, engineering, execution and evaluation of completion and well intervention programmes, ensuring activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with the company’s technical standards and HSE requirements.

The role will act as a key technical authority within the Wells function, providing leadership and technical guidance to CWI superintendents and engineers, while representing the department in cross-functional planning and operational activities.

This is a residential, staff position based in Port-Gentil, Gabon.

The ideal candidate will have significant onshore completions and well intervention experience in Africa, gained directly with an oil & gas operator. Fluency in English is essential, while French language capability would be a strong advantage.

Responsibilities
  • Operational Leadership: Plan, engineer, and execute well completions, workovers, and interventions (slickline, stimulation, coil tubing).
  • Technical Authority: Define completion methods, equipment selection, and well integrity barriers aligned with company standards.
  • Budget & Resource Management: Control CWI budgets, optimize resource utilization, and manage contractors.
  • HSSE Compliance: Enforce safety standards and good oilfield practices across all operations.
  • Performance Optimization: Develop strategies, procedures, and KPIs to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Represent CWI in technical reviews, scheduling, and operational controls; provide expertise from completion through abandonment.
  • Policy Development: Author and maintain company rules, practices, and standards for CWI operations.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in CWI operations, including 7+ years in supervisory roles.
  • Proven track record in well design, workovers, and interventions.
  • Expert knowledge of completions (lower/upper), artificial lift, well integrity, and HSSE standards.
  • Proficiency in production optimization and nodal analysis.
  • Familiarity with reservoir-to-wellbore interface, nodal analysis, and materials selection.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage contractors and cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical mindset with commercial awareness.
  • Fluent in English; French is an asset.
